I believe many have heard my story already but i guess i'll tell. It all boiled down to this final day and............ I made it there late. I thought I was early, ended up there just in the nick of time. Was fiddling with everything, and ended up long story short, I had to squeeze into my lane, without a chance to use the scope. Was totally disoriented and had no idea where my arrows were flying. I ended up with a 234 for my 90m. The second worst i've scored since the first time I scored at 90m, with two 'M's,... Couldn't have been worst. Ranked 16th right off in the first round. However, I caught my ground quickly.
come 70m round, I could almost see where most of my arrows were flying. I ended up with some really good ends(one with 3 tens and 3 nines), and had the stage set for scoring one of my best scores at 70m but suddenly the wind picked up. I couldn't use my scope, and ended up with a 297. Just 7 points below my best. I wasn't too happy with it, but it was good enough.
my 50m round was better, though. I had a 303. I had the stage set for a very good round again, but I lost it in the last 6 arrows, hitting blues and reds. Well, the good thing is that i'm one point above my best score but.....
I ended off my 30m round with a 337, paralleling my personal best. Totalled 1171. Wasn't quite what I hoped for. I was hoping for a 1202, what I could get if I didn't flop my 90m....
But somehow, it didn't matter to me at all. All my hopes and dreams were gone already. I was hoping on riding on national team status to get training time out from the army, but it seems like my hopes for entering the national team this year are effectively dashed. Thanks to the fact that the AGM hasn't been held and stuff like that. I hear rumours that when the committee switches, the new committee would fire this present korean coach, but more importantly, by the time they actually get down to holding a proper national selection trial, i'd be long running botak with m-16s in the army. 10 jul is the date to beat.
ah well. this is life.
